Writing and Wellness Retreat in Italy - Casa della Pace: October 16-30, 2010

Take a moment to imagine the quiet voluptuousness of a peaceful vegetarian estate in the Italian hills.

Now picture spending two weeks there, doing yoga, enjoying the wildlife, and enjoying a bit of local wine.

You are invited to our two-week autumn retreat at Casa della Pace, a delightful estate featuring a renovated stone church (now a yoga studio) and delicious local vegetarian cuisine prepared with great care.

Workshops will be given for the following topics:

haiku and the poetry of attention
energized scenes and short prose
self-development, personal assessment and goal writing
landscape and still life painting
descriptive writing from direct observation
yoga and breathwork

Feel free to attend as many workshop modules as you'd like, and spend your free time working on your personal project(s).

Far greater than a vacation is the special kind of retreat that reminds you that your life is a treat, and that the precursor to the vacation was a treat as well. When you return home, you will take back strategies for reaching fulfillment that are both flexible and motivating.

Participants will spend time each day working with instructors in the following fields:

Creative and Self-Development Writing (Stephen Lloyd Webber) - You will keep a journal of haiku, personal reflection, and creative writing. This journal will commemorate your experience in Italy and serve as a reminder of all that you accomplished.

Yoga and Breathwork (Jade Webber) - By treating your body to fitness and wellness activities, you will feel more radiant and at home in this beautiful part of the world.

Painting and Drawing (Jade) - Italy's landscape offers its beauty to all painters, experienced or not. For those eager to learn more about painting, Jade is available for expert one-on-one or group instruction.

an informal 2-10 page writing sample
an informal 100 word bio
a brief paragraph on what you are looking forward to in the program, including your tentative writing goals
your preferred method of contact in the event your application is approved
